Employers conduct background checks to verify qualifications, ensure safety, comply with legal requirements, assess trustworthiness, and protect their reputation.
Your data is stored as evidence of the check for a period defined by the organization that requested it. After that, all data is securely deleted. We do not keep copies, or process your data for any other purpose. Scaut is a data processor (not a data controller) we follow the rules of the controller and they set the scope of the checks and make decisions based on the result.
This depends on the organization that has requested the screening, but you should submit as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Any progress you make whilst filling out the form will be saved and you can return back to it at any point before that expiry date.
Background checking involves searching a wide variety of sources like government databases, publicly available records, internet data, or interviews with appropriate parties. While there may be many possible sources, the ones used will always depend on the specific searches that has been ordered by the organization running the check.
The image is processed and analyzed during the verification process and then securely wiped after the check has been completed. All data is kept only for the duration of the retention period set by the organization running the check.
We are an ISO2700 ceritifed global workforce screening and verification company that helps organizations conduct screening checks for new and existing employees, contractors, consultants and more. We specialise in screening for high risk, high security and critical importance industries.
The more accurate and complete the information you provide is, the faster it will be. Try to maintain chronology in employment placings, use company emails for employers, and always attach supporting documents and qualifications where possible. The more you can provide, the faster we can be, and the less you’ll be involved.
If you want Scaut to obtain certain documents on your behalf, you will need to provide Scaut the legal authority to act in your name when interacting with government/agency. This is voluntary and only when you don’t want to obtain them yourself.
In most cases Scaut does not have access to your CV, and will still need the information.
That will be up to the organization that requested the check, get in touch with them and ask if you can have a copy of your results.
