Secure Teams, Secure Infrastructure

Given the nature of critical infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the workforce is paramount. The risks are there, you need to ensure you are protected any way you can.

Protecting critical industry

Scaut’s platform delivers vital assurances in the realm of critical infrastructure by allowing organizations to systematically validate every individual with access to these essential services—energy grids, telecommunications, water treatment, transportation, and more. With automated vetting workflows that scale across the EU, Scaut helps compliance with NIS2 and CER mandates by verifying criminal records, sanctions exposure, identity attributes, and professional history. If required, continuous monitoring upholds integrity post onboarding, while full audit trails support regulatory review and incident investigations. This human risk defense layer closes gaps left by purely technical controls and mitigates the threat of deliberate sabotage or insider threat.

Why it matters

Europe’s Critical Entities Resilience Directive (effective October 2024) was introduced largely in response to incidents of insider threats and sabotage targeting critical infrastructure—including pipelines, telecoms and energy systems across multiple Member States. A striking case came in Poland’s railway system, where Czech authorities reported “thousands of attempts” to penetrate signaling networks—suspected Russian-led cyber espionage—highlighting how poor vetting or oversight of personnel and contractors can open doors to state sponsored sabotage.
